From Durban
- Take the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg
- Just past Pinetown take the "Mariannhill / Richmond Road" exit (just 2km before the Mariannhill Tollgate)
- On the exit at Mariannhill turn left
- After some 600 metres turn right at the sign "Mariannhill Monastery" into Abbot Francis Road
- Follow this road until you come to a T-Junction
- Turn left, pass the Cathedral and go straight until the fork in the road
- Take the left fork to Tre Fontane Lodge.

From Pietermaritzburg
- Take the N3 towards Durban
- Continue
pass the Mariannhill Tollgate
- Take the next exit "Mariannhill / Richmond Road"
- Turn right at the top of the off-ramp
- Continue straight for about six hundred metres
- Turn right at the sign "Mariannhill Monastery" into Abbot Francis Road
- Follow this road until you come to a T-Junction
- Turn left, pass the Cathedral and go straight until the fork in the road
- Take the left fork to Tre Fontane Lodge.
